Armenia
is known for its beautiful landscapes, its cuisine, culture and history.
Since Armenia was the first country to officially adopt Christianity, you can
find some of the world's oldest churches and monasteries located in the
extremely beautiful natural settings. The Republic of Armenia is a
landlocked country surrounded by Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north, and
Azerbaijan to the east. Modern Armenia is considerably smaller than ancient
Armenia which, at the height of its power, extended from the Black Sea to the
Caspian Sea and from the Mediterranean Sea to Lake Urmia in present-day Iran.
