Overview
Entoto is densely forested area and it is widely considered as the lung of Addis Ababa. Many of Ethiopia’s long-distance legend runners have been using Entoto forest for training. Entoto has fascinating attractions and features; A historical protectorate with the reliability of a cliff fortress, A canyon of adorable beauty and lush greenery, the resting place from the era of dreams, a fresh well-fragrance of highland, Clear and pleasant hiking trails. The rising shoulder of the mountain's massif and Spring water bath of the high plateau reflects the extensive view of the area. It is the crown wild forest of the ancient and healing capacity of native wildlife. Entoto is a historical place where Negus Menelik while he was serving as Kind of Shewa resided and built his palace. It is also hosting different celebrated churches, namely Entoto Mariam,Kedus Raguel, Kedus Elias and Washa Mikael Churches from different eras.
